In the summer of 2024, I was asked to join the editorial team for a compilation of funeral sermons collected by the late preacher, teacher, author, and administrator Jack Wilhelm. Over the following months, Rickey Collum and I worked to bring the project to fruition. The edited volume, Near to the Brokenhearted: Funeral Sermon Outlines, is now available from Cypress Publications. The volume features contributions from each of the editors as well as from Jim Bill McInteer, Eugene W. Clevenger, Basil Overton, and many others.
